On March 14, 2023, representatives of Doxologia Infonews, more specifically Mr. Jordan Georgiev, editor-in-chief of the site, and Mr. Alexander Angelov, editor, visited the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
There they met the staff of the center and thanked them for their work, noting that the state should do more campaigns to make citizens aware of the need for blood donation and its benefits. They also noted that churches and religious organizations in Bulgaria should take a more active part in these campaigns and in blood donation itself.
Mr. Georgiev pointed out that “donating blood is a way of responding to Jesus Christ’s call for people to become hands of His merciful love, combining prayer and concrete actions to help those in trouble”.
“Everyone should donate blood at least once in their life, because it is a civic and Christian duty. We never know when we may end up in extreme situations and need blood, so such tragedies should not be the only times when we think of donating blood,” added Mr. Angelov.
Finally, after passing the necessary medical examination, the two donated blood and left glad and grateful to have donated part of their lives to people in need.
