The aircraft transporting Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has touched down at Sofia Airport. The Ecumenical Patriarch will preside over the funeral service for the late Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria.
Accompanying Bartholomew are Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Metropolitan Stephanos of Kallioupolis and Madytos, Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios, Director of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s Private Office, Secondary Patriarchal Deacon Kallinikos, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Charalambos Nichev, Archon of the Great Church of Christ Boris Gurov, Director of the Press and Communication Office of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Nikolaos-Georgios Papachristou, and one of the Secretaries of the Patriarchate, Petros Bazgarlos. The Ecumenical Patriarch is scheduled to return to Constantinople later on the same day.
